The Finestral Story

Finestral has been operating successfully for the past 20 years. Finestral was the first local business to venture into PVC manufacturing, with all apertures manufactured locally and made to measure.

Finestral’s journey is a long, successful one. The owners, Kenneth Azzopardi and Jonathan Pace wanted to invest in a business together. When an opportunity arose to purchase a company producing PVC apertures, they thought it would be the right type of business venture for them. In reality, neither of them had much knowledge in the field, but that didn’t deter them from purchasing.

Upon acquisition, they immediately sought an expert in the field that could guide them. When this key person was ready to join, the company owner employing him also decided to sell his business; this was a crucial point in Finestral’s story.

The first business they bought was up for sale because, at that time, PVC apertures were not in demand. It was also for this reason why the second business became available for purchase. Undeterred, the founders proceeded to buy the second company before even starting operations with the first. This second business was called Finestral and had already been operating for ten years.

The decision to buy Finestral was three-fold. The first was to eliminate a possible competitor; the second was that the Finestral brand had already become popular, and they wanted to leverage that to their advantage. The third reason was that Finestral was the agent of Deceuninck – one of the world’s top PVC manufacturers of high-quality systems for doors and windows.

That marked the beginning of the Finestral brand as we know it today. Following a rebranding exercise, the company started operating from premises in St. Venera, measuring 250sqm.

A mix of several factors made Finestral grow to what it is today: Excellent service, outstanding customer care, and comprehensive marketing educating people about the qualities and advantages of investing in uPVC apertures. Such advantages are weather resistance, high security, sound and thermal insulation, and that they are maintenance-free, resistant to wind and termites etc.

With success came growth: the business could no longer operate from their Santa Venera premises. After a couple of years, they moved to their new facility in the industrial area in San Gwann, measuring ten times the space they previously had. From a team of two, the company grew to employ over 50 people.

Finestral is proud of their service, sticking to lead times and deadlines. Should any issues occur, these are dealt with swiftly because of their advantage in manufacturing locally.

Finestral has installed thousands of windows in Malta, and all have stood the test of time. Nowadays, the brand name Finestral is synonymous with high-quality uPVC apertures. Purchasing Finestral is also buying a 10-year guarantee, with the peace of mind that you will be safe and comfortable in your own home.
